Swansea Coach House

334/6/8 Lombard Street | Philadelphia, PA 19147

A 15 unit apartment complex with old-world charm but with all modern conveniences in an excellent location. The building has been under one ownership and management since 1968.

The location is super: in Society Hill where everything is just a short walk away from your doorstep — any number of fine restaurants, shops, food markets, etc. Public transportation for every direction is just across the street. The waterfront and Penns Landing are less than 4 blocks away.

SWANSEA COACH HOUSE is just 15 units, which contributes to its charm. The European type courtyard, which in 1997 underwent an improvement program, also contributes to its charm with an artistic mural creation, various flora, new lighting that is sort of nautical, a beautiful new locked entrance gate with wrought-iron filigree arch above and a flagstone threshold below.

The residents are predominantly young professionals; there are no undergraduate students.

The site is an historical one which before the Civil War was occupied by someone active in the anti-slavery movement.

The present building was erected in 1923 and in 1968/9 was thoroughly rehabilitated by the present owner with completely new plumbing, heating, air-conditioning, electrical wiring, hardwood flooring, ceramic tiling, kitchens, baths, roofing, etc, etc. And, most importantly, since then it has continuously enjoyed attentive maintenance by the same owner.

Security would be hard to surpass: there is a locked gate at the entrance to the courtyard, a locked door at the building entrances and a locked vestibule door. Tenants can admit guests, without leaving their apartments, via the intercoms at the front gate and at the entrance doors.
SWANSEA COACH HOUSE is owner-managed. As owners, we are totally involved; we are much more interested in the operation of our properties than the typical broker or agent. The management and the staff of SWANSEA COACH HOUSE are professional and attentive to tenant concerns.
